Yorkshire Animal Hospital, established in 1956 by Dr. Harry “Cap” Eschenroeder, has served the pet owners of the Affton/Crestwood/Webster Groves communities for 37 years. After several different associates entering and leaving the practice, Dr. Diesel joined the practice in October 1992.
Dr. Diesel became the practice owner on July 1, 1993. Currently, Dr. Diesel works as the sole veterinarian and employs four veterinary technicians, a veterinary assistant, a groomer, and a receptionist. He is looking forward to the day when he can employ a second veterinarian that will allow the practice to offer increased services and allow Dr. Diesel more time for his family.

Dr. Dale Diesel
Dr. Dale R. Diesel graduated from the University of Missouri College of Veterinary Medicine in 1981. After graduation, he joined a six-doctor practice in Breese, Illinois where he cared for the companion animals of the practice plus made farm calls to the numerous dairy & swine farms in the area. In 1986, he left practice to work for Purina Mills, Inc., where his responsibilities included product development and technical support for Animal Health Products.
Dr. Diesel joined Yorkshire Animal Hospital in October 1992, then purchased the practice in July 1993. The most gratifying experience a veterinarian can have is to watch successive generations of family members trust him with the care of their four-legged family members.
He enjoys the beauty of nature & wild life. Sasha & Cali, two of his three dogs, enjoy spending time on the couch more than outdoors. While Jax, a Labrador Retriever, enjoys hunting and fishing with him. Dr. Diesel relaxes by spending time with family & friends & working on his property in Southern Illinois.
